Did any other Honda owners get an incredibly vague recall notice lately that states you MAY be able to get temporary transportation from the dealer until the parts are available to make the fix?
The dealer I asked laughed and said no way, no how.
But a friend of mine in Little Rock too his wife’s 2012 Fit to a dealer they didn’t even buy from and were given a new Camry loaner until their Fit can be made safe. Almost no questions asked.
So. I know rationally that I’m PROBABLY not going to be injured or killed by my Takata grenade. However I often drive my two little daughters and I’m just irrationally nervous.
Suggestions? Keep trying? Call NHTSA? Call Honda? Sweat it out? Sell the CR-V and get the certified ‘14 Focus ST I saw yesterday?

I got a letter from BMW on my airbag also being possibly recalled. Great...
My friend’s mom has an M1 and she DEMANDED a loaner till her’s is fixed.
I am told the parts will be in sometime circa June.

My Honda dealer stated the swap takes 1-2hours and no rental would be provided.
My BMW dealer has stated they will tell me when the replacement part is in, and I can just drop my car off and pick up my loaner then, and return the loaner when I see fit.

A colleague has got a rental for the same reason on his honda. BMW offered me one for the E46 at a severely discounted rate, but I declined because its not my daily.

I just had my ‘03 Odyssey in for the second airbag recall, but I’m afraid I already tossed the letter. However, I don’t recall reading about a loaner. I think I heard about it here. But don’t quote me on that. My guess is that different dealers are handling this different ways.

I work at a chevy dealer. Any recall work is eligible for a loaner car. Does not mean we always have one available, but thats our policy.

I had my CRV recall a long time ago, they shuttled me back and forth, it only took a couple hours. There was some other recall from 2006 that they did too, for my seatbelt something....

1M you mean?
M1 would be a PITA to replace the airbag.

Right. Except the parts won’t even be available until late summer, so until then I’m driving my kids and wife around in a car that might kill them with the safety equipment designed to protect them.
Not cool.

The deal is you say you don't feel safe driving it and Honda pays for a rental. If they say no ask for the district reps phone number
